The National Wallace Monument
The National Wallace Monument is one of Scotland’s boldest architectural expressions of national pride. It was completed in 1869 as a memorial to William Wallace. There are three exhibition galleries inside which feature the legendary Wallace Sword, an animation film, and interactive displays. Visits are self-guided and information is provided in 8 different languages. At the top of the Monument is a panoramic viewing platform. Wemyss School of Needlework
Founded in 1877, the Wemyss School of Needlework began in order to teach local girls a skill from which to earn a living. Today we supply needlework materials, designs, kits (both ready to go and bespoke), and teach. Visitors can have a private visit our museum to see our collection of textiles, designs and other artefacts, dating from the 17th century to contemporary and hear about our fascinating history or book a private full or half day class.
