Pentland Ferries
Orkney’s own ferry company, Pentland Ferries, operates from Gills Bay in Caithness to St Margaret’s Hope in Orkney. The service takes just over one hour on one of its vehicle and passenger ferries:
MV Pentalina - accommodation includes seating areas and a café.
MV Alfred - accommodation includes seating areas, a café and an indoor dog-friendly lounge.
Environmental awareness - both vessels are greenest in their class, both in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Get up close and personal with our birds.. We engage all walks of life. We encourage people with disability and have adapted our demonstrations to accommodate. The Viking Falconry themed day would be a chance to allow participants to gain an understanding of how the Norsemen hunted with Birds of Prey on the Orkney Islands.

Italian Chapel
The Italian Chapel is a highly ornate Catholic chapel on Lamb Holm in the Orkney Islands. It was built during World War II by Italian prisoners of war, who were housed on the previously uninhabited island while they constructed the Churchill Barriers to the east of Scapa Flow. Skaill House
Skaill House is the fine 17th century mansion overlooking the spectacular Bay of Skaill on the Orkney Islands. Home of William Graham Watt, 7th Laird of Breckness, who unearthed the World famous Neolithic village of Skara Brae in 1850. Today, after careful restoration work, the house is open to the public and entry is included in a joint ticket with Skara Brae, which is just a 200m walk away.
