The local historical society and ‘Air an Lot’ have joined forces to bring you an intriguing insight into life in the past, as well as how these traditions are incorporated into life today. Visit Donald MacSween and his nearest and dearest four-legged friends by a peat-smoked fire and move on to meet the friendly team at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis who will invite you in to showcase their hub of charming and important artefacts and stories of the past.

Immerse yourself in the North Lewis community while getting off the tourist trail by E-bike to witness beautiful scenery. Depending on ability, highlights include cycling through a peat cut moorland to the remote Filiscleitir church or exploring the coastline away from the roads. This is a guided ride with a local knowledgeable member of the community who will share stories of the past and present.

Clan MacQuarrie Community Centre & The Niseach Chef

An experience filled with mouth-watering delicacies, refreshing drams and heartwarming stories of local traditions, accompanied by the call of the bagpipes. One of our expert local chefs, Allan Macritichie (The Niseach Chef), will showcase a delicious six-course tasting menu featuring some of North Lewis’ famous dishes, interspersed with the chef’s personal stories behind their dishes. The experience is accompanied by live traditional Scottish music, including your very own personal piper.

Ness Social Club and Taigh Dhonnchaidh Arts & Music Club

Your clients will be warmly welcomed to the Ness FC Social club with a dram of local whisky and some homemade shortbread while being entertained by Highland Dancers in traditional dress. Talented musicians from Taigh Dhonnchaidh, North Lewis’ music school, will treat you to some traditional music and beautiful Gaelic song, while also learning traditional Scottish Country Dancing: feel free to watch a demonstration or give it a go yourself!
