About Orkney

I offer driver-guided tours for up to four in a Ford Galaxy and tours for larger groups in a hired coach. Tours can be one day or longer and are designed around the guests’ interests. Having grown up on a small farm beside our World Heritage Site, my tours offer an insight into Orkney’s ancient and more recent past. Any family connections with Orkney can be researched before the tour, which will then be planned around my findings.

I research Orkney’s history and our connections with the wider world and give talks at the Orkney International Science Festival. American guests can learn about Orkney’s part in the American Revolution and Canadians can hear about the Hudson’s Bay Company.

Prices £440 per day for up to four people, including any entrance fees but not lunch.

Orkney Brewery

The Orkney Brewery is based in the former schoolhouse for Quoyloo, one mile from Skara Brae, in the heart of Neolithic Orkney. With a Gift Shop, Tasting Hall serving local Orkney produce and Tours of the Brewery, we’d welcome your guests to our 4 star visitor attraction. Tours last approx. 30 mins, bespoke tours available on request. Parking for all sizes vehicles. Seating for up to x50 in Tasting Hall. The Brewery is open April - October.

Orkney Brewery Peedie Bottle Shop is now open in Kirkwall for those who can't make it to the visitor centre in Quoyloo.

Lizzie’s Orkney Tours

Lizzie's Orkney Tours offer visitors a comprehensive opportunity to learn about, visit and enjoy all that Orkney has to offer. Lizzie is a Scottish Tourist Guiding Association Green Badge accredited tourist guide and your guests will enjoy the history, culture and heritage of the islands in a special Orkney Tour. Bespoke tours in a comfortable 8 seat minibus. We offer a specific Tasting Orkney Tour which offers visitors the opportunity to sample much of the local produce.

Orkney Highlights Tours

Experienced, friendly mature tourist guide for Orkney. Touring vehicle is a comfortable Citroen Despatch, max 8 guests. Available April to end of September, out of season by arrangement. Tours can include Highlights of Orkney, archaeology, history, military, craft and food tours with stories and legends of Picts and Vikings and wicked earls’ visits, trips to the outer isles, step on tours, Kirkwall walking tours and beaches of Orkney tours. 20% reduction for solo travellers.

JP Orkney – Tours

An Orkney based family run business. We specialise in tours of Orkney with a food and drink flavour. Groups of 6 to 8 and FIT can be catered for. Your clients can enjoy being shown around in an all-electric vehicle, our business is fully accredited by Green Tourism and the Scottish Tour Guide Association. Tours can be from one day or more and will be tailored to your client’s interests. We also do specific food and drink tours were your customers will come face to face with the creators of some of Scotland’s finest produce. We can collect and drop off anywhere in Orkney and your clients will receive one of our very tasty JP Orkney gift bags.

Orkney Trike Tours

Orkney Trike Tours offers you an exclusive, exciting and unique way of exploring the beautiful islands of Orkney. John is a fully trained Tour guide affiliated to the Scottish tourist guide association. He uses a custom built 1500cc motorised trike to give your guests “two tours” in one go. Firstly, the thrill and excitement of the journey sampling the full Orkney atmosphere. Secondly, a tour of all the places we visit - be it history, scenery or wildlife. This is all done in a way to entertain and inform.

Our walks are for small groups of up to 6 people, ranging in length from 2 hours up to a full day. Shorelands Orkney – Transfers – Accommodation – Meals – Tours

Shorelands Orkney is the only business in Orkney that offers accommodation and tours. Transfers (if necessary) are included, however limited off-street/quiet street parking is also available. Our 'set tour' package includes two nights bed and breakfast, one tour around the Orkney mainland with lunch and transfers to and from any ferry port and the airport. Visitors can save on ferry fares by leaving vehicles on the Scottish Mainland and we offer private transfer between to and from our guest house. Small Groups, FIT, max capacity x6.

Orkney Distillery

On Kirkwall’s harbour-front, the Orkney Distillery is the ideal attraction for your clients looking for a quality visitor experience in the heart of Orkney’s main town. Gin distillery tours run each day with bespoke tours available for groups. Your clients will learn about the distilling process, gin production & sample the gins before relaxing with a drink.
Parking available, tour is suitable for children & has disabled access. 10% discount on tour for groups of 10+ (£15 adults, £8 children).

Graham’s Orkney Tours is a new tour guiding service based in Kirkwall, Orkney. As an Orcadian and high school History teacher, I am uniquely placed to share my passion for and knowledge of the history, culture, and heritage of these wonderful islands with clients in my own comfortable 8-seater vehicle.
We offer a variety of small group tours or private, personal tours tailored to your clients’ wishes and interests.

The Orkney Hotel
