1881 Distillery & Gin School

1881 Distillery is home to Scotland's largest residential Gin School. Located above the original Peebles Hydro swimming pool, guests can enjoy three-hour-long distillery experiences and extend the experience with an overnight stay in Peebles Hydro. Only 35 minutes from Edinburgh airport, this is a true Scottish Borders Experience. The London Spirits Competition awarded The 1881 Distillery gold for its subtly smoked Rafters Gin which was inspired by the hotel’s history and a fire it suffered in 1905. The Scottish gin brand also received silver for three gins, Hydro, Honours and Tiffin.

A few miles from Edinburgh you’ll find Restoration Yard Store and Restaurant, set in the perfect 1,000 acre Dalkeith Country Park for groups of 12-80. This stunning destination opened in 2016 following an £8.9million restoration project and is now the perfect stop for breakfast, tea and cake or a two course menu. Your guests can shop in The Store, an experience in itself, with a foodhall selling local Scottish produce, fashion, homewares and more or take a leg stretch on one of our waymarked walks.

Greyfriars Kirk

Built on the site of a pre-Reformation Franciscan monastery, our iconic building offers much to see and appreciate, from reading the words of the National Covenant (signed here in the Kirkyard in 1638), right through to contemporary additions, such as our magnificent organ that dominates the sanctuary. Eat walk Glasgow

Our food walking tours of Glasgow visit 5 locations tasting locally sourced food with 3 of the stops also having drink tastings. The local guide will talk about the history of the city as the group walk between venues. All stops on the tours have table resevations with seating and toilet facilities. We can cater for most dietary needs. We can offer these tours as private tours at a time suitable to your client and also guided in German or French.
