Glasgow has festivals to keep you entertained right through autumn and winter. Glasgow Winterfest hosts two Christmas Markets in St Enoch Square and George Square. Celtic Connections, the UK’s premier celebration of Celtic music takes place from 16 Jan – 2 Feb 2025. And Glasgow Film Festival takes you from end February to 9 March, with a programme of films including exciting new releases and cult classics. Aside from the festivals, Glasgow has a brilliant mix of top attractions including galleries, shopping and museums.
If you want to escape the city, Glasgow is close to the stunning scenery of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Or, if you fancy a trip to the islands, take the train from Glasgow to Wemyss Bay on the west coast, and hop on a ferry to explore the Isle of Bute.
