The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery is in the centre of Forfar opened in 1898. We welcome groups and FIT. Your clients can explore the narrow and cobbled Vennel, and step back in time. Catch a glimpse of Peter Reid’s sweet shop, or the baker removing the famous Forfar bridies from the oven. The Forfar Witches Story – Guided Walk
Explore Forfar’s dark past and experience the shocking true story of the Forfar Witches. The Forfar Witch Trials took place between 1661-1663. 42 of the town’s inhabitants were imprisoned and tortured on suspicion of witchcraft, and 22 women were found guilty and executed.
Forfar is close to Dundee along the eastern route to the Angus Glens and Highlands in the North. The Forfar Witches Story guided walk is a one-of-a-kind experience, starting and ending in the historic Meffan Museum, where your clients can enjoy the exhibits and galleries featuring contemporary art exhibitions.
