Forfar Meffan Museum & Art Gallery

Forfar Meffan Museum & Art Gallery

The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery is in the centre of Forfar opened in 1898. We welcome groups and FIT. Your clients can explore the narrow and cobbled Vennel, and step back in time. Catch a glimpse of Peter Reid’s sweet shop, or the baker removing the famous Forfar bridies from the oven. Find out about the Forfar witch trials and view the mysterious Pictish sculptured stones, Goosecroft log boat dated to 1090AD and fascinating archaeology found in the area.
The gallery displays the work of local, national and internationally renowned artists making up an exciting programme of changing exhibitions throughout the year.
